Position Overview:

State Bank of India is seeking applications from eligible Indian citizens to fill the position of Probationary Officer (PO). Successful candidates may be stationed anywhere in India.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Academic Qualifications:
    • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Candidates in their final year/semester are also eligible, provided they produce proof of graduation by 31.12.2023.
  2. Age Limit:
    • Minimum: 21 years
    • Maximum: 30 years
    • As of 01.04.2023 (Candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2002 and not earlier than 02.04.1993).

    Age Relaxation:

    • Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes: 5 Years
    • Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
    • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Varies based on category
    • Ex-Servicemen: 5 Years

Application Process:

  1. Prospective candidates should thoroughly read the advertisement for detailed information on eligibility, registration, fee payment, issuance of call letters, examination process, and interview.

Selection Process:

  1. The recruitment process comprises three phases:
    • Phase-I: Online Preliminary Examination
    • Phase-II: Online Main Examination
    • Phase-III: Psychometric Test, Interview & Group Exercises
  2. Shortlisted candidates from each phase will proceed to the next.

  • Payment of Application Fee: 07.09.2023 to 27.09.2023
  • Preliminary Examination Call Letter: 2nd Week of October 2023
  • Preliminary Examination: November 2023

  • Final Result Declaration: February / March 2024

Note for Applicants:

  1. OBC candidates under “Creamy Layer” should apply under the General category.
  2. Ensure the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate is based on FY 2022-23 income, issued on/after April 01, 2023.
  3. Reservation under the EWS category requires a valid “Income & Asset Certificate” for FY 2022-23.
  4. Caste certificates for SC/ST candidates must be submitted during document verification if called for an interview.
