Job Description:

The Zonal Head – Internal Audit will be responsible for assisting the National Head of Internal Audit in various audit activities, including audit planning, control evaluation, reporting, documentation, and verification of issue closure. This role will play a pivotal role in fraud identification/control and the development of proper prevention mechanisms. The Zonal Head will directly engage with a team comprising Regional Managers and AVPs, assigning and delegating audit work to team members, and reviewing their work to ensure compliance with the RBIA policy framework within the stipulated time frame. The Zonal Head will be responsible for the entire East Zone, which includes the states of Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Assam.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (KRA’s):

  • Preparation of the audit calendar as per the RBIA framework for the assigned zone.
  • Initiation and filing of different fraud reports to RBI within given timelines.
  • Extensive travel to all branches within the assigned region/state to assess the health of the portfolio and related activities.
  • Providing technical expertise and advice to assist with the planning, execution, and reporting of audits.
  • Communicating audit results and issues clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Discussing audit observations with other partners proficiently.
  • Educating colleagues and stakeholders on best practices and lessons learned.
  • Continuous self-development and upgradation of knowledge.
  • Supervising junior staff during audit projects and providing performance-related feedback.
  • Playing a pivotal role in establishing a proper Internal Audit framework and defining the risk posture for the organization.
  • Identifying current and potential risks impacting the company, assessing, mitigating, measuring, monitoring, and reporting them according to the company’s RBIA framework.
  • Designing and maintaining key risk indicators such as Early Warning Signals and Key Risk Area assessments, etc.

Requirements/Skill Set:

  • Minimum requirement of a Post Graduation degree in any stream.
  • Certification in Audit/Risk Management/Fraud/Vigilance will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of Audit/Risk and Fraud control processes in the Banking or NBFC sphere.
  • Minimum 15 years+ of internal or external audit/risk/fraud experience.
  • Prior experience in team handling (50+ direct or indirect reports) is a must.
